A GOOD PRINT STARTS HERE
How to align and print
your bank cheque.
Set up a template once, save it for your bank, then enter the details for each cheque. Core alignment and printing are free, with no account needed.
Create a template from your cheque
- Choose the template details. Open Layouts and select New template. Enter the bank, account type, country, currency and a name you will recognise. You can also start from an available shared bank template and save your own copy.
- Add a flat cheque image. Scan the cheque or photograph it from directly above. Keep all four edges visible and avoid shadows. Upload a PNG, JPEG or WebP image using the attachment area.
- Check the crop and suggested positions. The app looks for clear paper edges locally. When connected, text recognition can suggest the bank name and field positions. Review the result; use Crop scan or Restore original scan to correct it. Manual alignment remains available without online recognition.
- Measure the real cheque. Enter the paper width and height in millimetres. The editable starting size is 205 × 100 mm; use the measurements of your own cheque. An image’s pixel dimensions cannot establish its physical size.
- Place the text and save. Drag each field to its printed line or enter exact measurements. Make a plain-paper test, correct the positions, then choose Save template & use. Recheck alignment when changing printers.
Align payee, date, amount and crossing fields
Select a field on the cheque to adjust its position, width, height, font and text size. Drag its handles or enter exact values in millimetres. Arrow keys move a selected field by 0.5 mm; hold Shift for 1 mm.
Double click or double tap a field, or select Edit text, to change its test value directly on the cheque. Amount wording updates automatically. Test values stay in the alignment editor and do not create history records.
Long payee names and amount wording can continue onto a second line when the first line fills. Align each continuation line where your cheque provides space. The default ** markers surround the full payee and amount wording.
Choose a crossing when writing; No Crossing is the default. Adjust the crossing angle with its rotation handle or enter an exact angle in Layouts. Keep all printed text inside the cheque.
Fonts are bundled for offline use. Read the font licences. Review the full wording and repeat a plain-paper test after changing fonts or measurements.
Feed the cheque and print at actual size
- Choose the saved template, enter the payee, cheque date and amount, then click Print cheque. Uncheck Print beside any field you want to leave blank.
- The print dialog preserves your saved cheque dimensions and field positions at 100% actual size. Default Cheque Paper uses the printer’s standard paper setting; it does not stretch your cheque to fill the page.
- The default position is top-centre with portrait feed and a 90° left cheque rotation. Follow the feeding animation: the signature side enters first for portrait feed. Landscape uses a horizontal cheque with the signature area at the bottom. Follow your printer’s face-up or face-down tray marking.
- For a plain-paper test, use matching printer paper settings, 100% scale, no added margins and no browser headers or footers. Compare the printed text against your actual cheque before printing on it.
- Print one real cheque at a time. If you enabled Save history, check the paper and update its status in History. A print attempt or a Printed status does not prove payment.
